Play Fair
When we made the decision to work in Africa, we knew we would face some challenges, but we were continually focussed on ensuring we maintained our ethical practices. This means that Oliberté is ensuring it partners with suppliers and factories that demonstrate respect and equity in the work place for men and women.
We carefully selected each of our partner factories based on our “play fair” factor. We continue to monitor our factories to ensure that they comply with our standards and policies. At all factories, women comprise approximately 50% of the workforce, including junior and senior administrative positions. All partner factories exceed local labour standards and workers are provided current benefits like subsidized or free lunches, tea breaks and women are provided job security
with maternity leave.
As we continue to grow, we will support our partner factories and help them improve on their current compensation and benefit structures by adding programs like health and life insurance, credit savings programs and training.
