Was kind of sceptical, but the shoe is much better than the representation in the pictures. Very comfortable. Quality materials. Good craftsmanship. I don't care much for the soles. I mean everything about the shoe says handmade - but then the sole (looks like something mass produced). It just doesn't fit in with how well the rest of the shoe is made. Just my opinion. Over all, I'm a very satisfied customer and am looking forward to buying a different pair in the future. Note regarding fit, I am 10.5 US and the 11 fit very well.
Unique shoes, great fit, and outstanding quality. Definitely worth the price.
Great company. Great shoes. Very comfortable.
Great looking shoe with lots of rugged style. Seem to be very well made but have only wore them a few times. The only thing I would add is the soles are very thin and no cushion may need to add some insoles.
Love the shoes although they are a bit tight. Hoping they will stretch out.
Awesome shoe! I'm a 9.5 normally but got the 9 (also 9 in Nikes) and fit great. Wore them on a rainy day but dried up ok, looking to get the wax to waterproof them. Tons of compliments too!
Absolutely great pair of shoes. The size was exact, they fit very well. Didn't take long to break in.
I just opened the box...I like what I see but was a little taken back by the shape of the shoe. The sole was much wider then the photo shows but they are very comfortable and I can't wait to wear them and break them in.
These are nice shoes. My experience is that they fit true size (for me). The quality of the materials and stitching is very good. For me, they did require a break-in period. At first, they were stiff and not very comfortable. I broke them gradually by wearing them around the house or running some errands. Once they started to break-in, the comfort is excellent. Almost fitting like a glove. In short, nice shoes. They do require a bit of break-in time. I like them a lot.
Excellent quality. Different and totally awesome. Wear 10.5 and ordered the 11. Perfect fit. Bought the Gorilla Wax to waterproof.
Very comfortable, well made, look great! My foot is a little wide in the front so they were kinda tight at first but after a few days they fit perfectly.
The fit is a bit snug in the toe area when you first get them but gets better once you wear them in. I bought them in US size 10 and I am a size 11 in Nike Free as a reference. Great built quality and I love how they look.
A great looking boot. Took a few days of constant wear to break in but are now very comfortable. Not meant for the coldest or wettest days, but are otherwise a perfect boot.
On my second pair! First lasted three solid years of daily wear, most of it in NYC which is one of the walkinest places around. Gotten many compliments on these, and I use them for work and play.
I love these boots! They are very well made. The left heel took a couple of days to break in (it was pretty stiff originally), but now is quite comfortable. Now they practically feel like slippers that I can wear anywhere!
Comfortable and good looking boots. Break in easily.
These were a surprise gift for my boyfriend, and he really loves them! They are the perfect style he's been looking for since a favorite type of shoes were discontinued years ago. The shipping was so fast, and he says they were comfortable right away -- besides for the heel, which broke in after about two days of wear. He loves them! Such an easy, excellent purchasing experience. Will be back for the women's version!
Awesome boots with a lifetime warranty, love them forever
I love these shoes! The only reason it did not get a 5 stars is because of the stiff back of the ankle. The shoes are very comfortable to the foot, but as you walk the back of the heel slightly digs into the Achilles area. As I am wearing these, it is breaking in more and more. I highly recommend this shoe.
As someone else said, the top ankle part hurts a bit at first. I've been wearing two pair socks with them. After breaking in a little bit, super comfortable. They were a little darker than they looked in the pic (Hi Brown Yellow Pull Up) and I wish they were a little lighter, but I still like them.
My first pair of Oliberte shoes and they will certainly not be the last! FANTASTIC! I eased into them (a few hours a day to help the leather break in, especially on the ankles) and now, they are on my feet everyday unless something comes up. Comfortable, good looking, versatile, and fair trade. I'll be buying more for the wardrobe.
As my first pair of Oliberte, the Mogado has made me a fan. The quality of hand-made construction is exactly what I was looking for, that breaks out of the mundane desert boot mold. The fit is great. The look is out of the ordinary. I get compliments all the time.
A little narrow at the toe but I imagine they will stretch out. They look great and are easily the most comfy boots that I have.
I've now scooped up several pairs of Oliberte shoes... all very well made, super comfortable, and prompting questions about where I got them. Love 'em!
Amazing quality and comfort. I will always look to Oliberte for future footwear. Great to support a company with a sound moral compass.
My first pair and won't be my last. The quality is amazing and I ordered my usual 9US size. For me it was TTS but I have narrow feet.
Slightly too small so I will swap for a bigger size but I like them so much that I strongly considered keeping the original pair so that I could start wearing them straight away.
Great construction and fit, a bit tough for my ankles but I hope that once I break them down the issue will go away. I ordered a size down, usually a 9 but went with a 41cm shoe and it worked well. Very happy, I bought two other pairs but different style.
This is the most well constructed shoe I have ever owned. This is actually the second pair I purchased so in case they're ever discontinued I'll have a back up if something should happen to my originals. I don't suspect I'll have to use them for at least 5-10 years due to the quality. Can't recommend them enough.
Awesome Chukka's that fit like a glove. Will be my first of many Olibertes!!!
This is my second pair and they are fantastic.
As with all of my other Oliberté shoes, the build quality is superb. After breaking in, they're easily the most comfortable shoe I own (besides my 2 year old pair of Oliberté's). Not an expensive shoe if you consider how long they last.
Great shoes. A little narrow in the forefoot at first, but once broken in, it fit great.
I truly like these shoes. They will take a little bit of breaking in, but will then probably fit like a glove. I would definitely recommend them. +++. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars, is the left sole is a bit thin in 1 or 2 spots-Hopefully it will not wear prematurely.
Received my shoes promptly. Ordered my actual shoe size- slipped right on. Sole is thinner than I expected but feels great. Color was spot on to what I expected from image. Love them.
Well made and great looking boot. Quite comfy except for the top Ridge rubs on your leg this will pass with worn inthough. Also with the sizing, I am 10.5 to 11. Majority an 11. I heard the others say size up so instead of 10 I got 11. They got perfectly. Usually an 11 feels a tiny bit big for me. But because of what everyone else is saying it's true. Fits very snug. But just a after a few days I'm starting to wear them in and they feel perfect. Delivery was quick and free so im very impressed by that. Price is really low for such a good quality boot. I'll definitely be buying some of their shoes as well. Go oliberte :) love to Africa and the people who made my shoes. Love to Canada for providing fair prices and free delivery to Australia . We usually get completely ripped off!
Love my new Olibertes! Picked up the brown last year & had to get the same model in black. They look & fit grrreat!
so leather is great, look is great, like all good leather needs break-in period, only neg is the toebox is much narrower than anticipated based on pic
I don't have to tell you that these shoes are awesome looking, or you wouldn't be reading this. I am a proud African descendant and I was already ecstatic to have bought shoes from the birthplace of HIM but seeing them really took the cake. The only reason I have not given them 5 stars is the sizing. They run at least a size small so will need stretching a bit. Simply size up if you are ordering, and wear with pride. I also recommend the wax or something of the sort, as the upper rough edges of the leather have a bluish cast from rubbing against my jeans. I'm just waiting to see what Oliberte do next. Will be buying at least one more pair as well.
This is my third pair of Oliberte's. I got the black/grey version, and finish is really cool. I'm really happy with the color and fit. My only critique is that compared to my other pairs of Oliberte's the leather on these is significantly stiffer. I'm super I'm be happy with them in the end, but I think they will take a lot more effort to break them in. You definitely can't just throws these on for the first time and wear them all day...
Arrived on-time, and I am very happy with the boots I received. Much better than I expected.
Super comfy. Well made. Super happy with my pair.
I discovered Oliberte earlier this year and I already own several pairs. I am a trained shoe cobbler. I've worked on worked on pretty much every type and brand of shoe in the world and I have seen very few shoes that are constructed as well as my Oliberte Mogados. They are gorgeous, comfortable, and best of all, they are fair trade certified. I can't express enough how good it feels to wear a pair of shoes that weren't made in a sweat shop. Thank you Oliberte!
The craftsmanship is really amazing and you can tell you are wearing a hand-crafted and unique shoe, which is what I wanted. I ordered a 12 and they fit great and I was actually surprised how comfortable they were right off the bat.....I thought they would take some time to wear in but the leather is already so soft they were good right away. I actually wore thsese for the first time at an all day family Christmas gathering/dinner and was just fine. Dont hesitate to get these, I might even get another color.
Spectacular boot. I cant wait to experience the evolution of the wear.
Been wearing these bad boys around the house to break them in and they are amazing. I am flat footed so I love the flat sole and very little arch support. True to size, 43 is a true 10. The craftsmanship is spot on and look like they will last a lifetime, and can be repaired if they don't. Love them!!!!
The boot fits great and wears well. The only complaint I could make is that the top of the boot around the ankle rubs a bit at first. After the boot is broken in, they feel amazing! I would definitely recommend these to a friend.
he shoes feel great; one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever worn!
Great looking boot. Super soft footbed. I can wear these all day long. No break in time either.
Great product though a little expensive, but way worth it. They look great with my Carhartts and a plaid shirt. I usually support local items but it felt good to support an African made product
I wear a 10.5 in Nike and the 11 fit me in the Mogado High. Great boot. I have received several compliments from both dudes and dudettes. Oliberte is a cool free-trade company based in Ethiopia, so that made up for the slightly high price. It's definitely a casual boot, looks good with pants...I wear them with shorts sometimes too, but I might look silly. Who knows. I think I look awesome. And that's what counts kids! Cool boots. Oliberte website has better pictures on their website, so check that out as well...but then order from Zappos because...free shipping and returns, yo. Peace. Enjoy.
