Behind the Oliberté Sole

One of Oliberté’s priorities is vertical integration, and this extends far beyond the leather and rubber used to make our shoes. As much as possible, we source our machines and molds in Africa as well. A prime example is our soles: The molds travel to Ethiopia from South Africa, and make for the limited-time designs and staple sole that you see below. The soles are made with close attention to detail in Addis Ababa using the molds and rubber sourced in Ethiopia and Liberia. Without further ado, some awesome images of the soles and the process!
